If there is a prediction of winter weather, make a point to check the vessel before the weather arrives.

• Check for adequate power
• Check battery power and charger
• Test bilge and cabin heat
• Make sure canvas poles and canvas are in the proper position
• If you do not have any type of battery charger, look to have one installed. (Call the marina Ship’s Store for details.)
• Perform a vessel check after the inclement weather has ended

Once the weather has subsided, make a point to do a follow-up check on the vessel.

• Be cautious of your surroundings (slick boardwalk, gangways, steps, etc.)
• Check for adequate power
• Check battery power and charger
• Check bilge for water
• Check for standing water (canvas, cabin and bilge)
• Brush off any snow from canvas
• Run boat and generator (if not been winterized)
